Video layers

Video layers

Video streams created in the Studio are made up of multiple layers. Layers allow for content to be placed on top of other content to create visually interesting designs.

Layers

There are 4 layers in total. Layers with a higher number will be shown above layers with a lower number.

Layer 0: Black

The default colour behind all content. This layer cannot be altered.

Layer 1: Background

A background that sits behind all of your other content.
Backgrounds media should generally be simple, clean and not contain any text. This layer will often be covered by other layers so text won't be legible.

Layer 2: Main Content

This is the layer where the majority of your content will live. Any full screen source or generated layout will be displayed on this layer.

Layer 3: Overlay items

The overlay layer sits on top of all other layers. Content displayed on this layer will be shown on top of any other content.
This layer is generally used for transparent layers such as name titles or 'bugs'.
