Live events can utilise several different types of content sources:
Introduction
Sources are the live elements of your event that can be shown to your audience.
Source types
Media can can be uploaded to your event and displayed on demand:
- Images
- Video
- PowerPoint presentations
- Keynote presentations
- PDF documents
Presenters
Presenters can be invited and their webcam displayed on demand.
Presenter screen share
Presenters can share their screen and the content displayed on demand.
External streams
Webpages (HTML)
Webpages can be utilised to show web content or extend Joinin capabilities through external services.
- Webpages are displayed at a resolution of 1920x1080 which is a common desktop size.
- You cannot interact with elements within a webpage.
- Webpages have no audio.
Source card
Each source has its own 'card' which displays information and allows for control. The controls visible on a source card depend on the source type and your account access level.
Video preview
A live preview of the source content.
Overlay
Set/unset this source as the active overlay.
Video controls
- Play/pause: change the play state of the media.
- Reset: set the media back to the start position and pause.
- Seek: jump to a specified time point in the media.
Volume level
Adjust the volume level of the source.
Latch
Playlist control
- Next: display the next media item in the playlist.
- Previous: display the previous media item in the playlist.
- Disable presenter control: Temporarily disable a presenter from controlling the presentation.
Settings
- Remove source: remove from the active sources.
- Assign presenter control: Allow a presenter to control the presentation. Read more
- Remove background: remove the coloured background from a source. Read more
- Listen off/on. Listen to the audio of the source on your device. This will not effect the audio of the source if it is in use.
Display indicator
- 'Next' is displayed if the source is used in the 'Next' display. This includes if the source is used as an overlay or latched audio.
- 'On Air' is displayed if the source is used in the 'On Air' display. This includes if the source is used as an overlay or latched audio.
