General settings

Manage the general settings for an event.

Access

Access type

Select how attendees will access the event.

Access type can be change at any point before an event is Live. Once Live this setting cannot be changed.

Public

The event is publicly accessible by anyone with the link.

Password

The event is protected by a password you set.

Automatic Registration

Attendees must register for the event by completing a registration form. Once complete they will be emailed login details immediately.

Manual Registration

Attendees must register for the event by completing a registration form. Registrations must be manually accepted before login details are emailed.

Pre Registration

Attendees are managed on a third party system and imported to Joinin. Attendees cannot register on your portal. More.


Access password

If access type is 'Password' The password attendees will use to access the event. Passwords are case SenSitivE.


Available for Password access type.

Access domains

Restrict access to only specified domains. For example, only allow access/registration from attendees with a '@joinin.live' email address. Multiple domains can be added. If left blank there are no restrictions.

Available for Password, Automatic Registration and Manual Registration access types.

Maximum attendees

Set the maximum number of attendees that can view this event. If this number is exceeded, additional attendees will not be able to access your portal.


Schedule

Set the scheduled start time and duration for the event.


Support

Set the support email address for the event. Attendees will see this email address in Notifications and on the Attendee Portal. It is their point of contact for questions and support.


GDPR

Collect General Data Protection Regulation (GRPR) consent information from attendees at Registration/Login. Enable this option to turn on GDPR related features and enhancements. Where you have (or intend to have) persons in the European Economic Area attend this event, this feature must be enabled. Please note, that all required GDPR requirements will be enabled, i.e Consent to data collection, consent on behalf of a minor and link to our privacy policy. When enabled permission must be granted by the attendee to access the event.


Engagement

Select which engagement functionality should be enabled for the event.

Chat 

Show or hide Chat functionality.

Moderation type

Select how submitted content should be moderated. 
  1. Automatically: chat messages will be approved immediately once submitted. Chat messages can be manually removed.
  2. Manually: chat messages must be approved by an operator.

Q&A

Show or hide Q&A functionality.

Moderation type

Select how submitted content should be moderated
  1. Manual approval: questions are submitted by your audience and require moderation before they are visible to your audience.
  2. Automatic approval: questions are submitted by your audience and are immediately approved. They can be manually removed. 

Show approved

Allow attendees to see questions once they are approved. If set tto 'No' the Q&A will be entirely private.

Allow anonymous

Allow attendees to optionally submit content without their name. Enabling this option generally increases the amount of submitted content as attendees feel safe to ask questions.

Anonymous submissions are not tracked against an attendee's record. There is no way to determine which attendee submitted the content.
